About the Author
MARTIN CHAPMAN is curator of European decorative arts and sculpture at Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, CA, and was formerly curator at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA. A prolific writer on the decorative arts, Chapman has lectured widely in England, Europe and the United States.
